24 > architecture recently completed construction on one of the most interesting “tree houses” I have ever seen…The Den.  It was designed for Six Senses’ Luxury hotel resort on Koh Kood Island, Thailand as part of a plan to promote environmental conciousness.  The Den is the centrepiece of The Children Activity and Learning Centre and was built with local materials, primarily bamboo and River Red Gum wood.  Inside are spaces for art, music, fashion as well as a library and auditorium for films and lectures.  The library houses books on permaculture and the lifestyles and history of the local inhabitants.  Nearby a vegetable garden and cooking cave keep the kiddos fed.  There is no doubt that this would be a thought provoking experience for any child!
